First WebALT Conference and Exhibition - WebALT2006

The First WebALT Conference and Exhibition will take place at the Technical University of Eindhoven on 5-6 January 2006. This event, sponsored by the Web Advanced Learning Technologies project (EDC-22253), aims to gather users and practitioners of e-learning technologies for teaching mathematics to exchange experiences and gain insight in the best available tools for mathematics education.

Topics of interest include but are not limited to:

  • Software supported testing and assessment in mathematics
  • Repositories of didactical material for online learning of mathematics and the sciences
  • Case studies and success stories of e-learning in mathematics
  • E-learning of mathematics in applied sciences
  • Multilingual aspects in e-mathematics
  • Data formats and communication protocols for mathematics in e-learning
  • Intellectual property rights of e-learning materials in mathematics
  • Policy issues in cross-cultural re-use of e-learning materials in mathematics

Program
The Conference program will consist of contributed and invited presentations while demonstrations of software and posters will be part of the Exhibition. Electronic proceedings of the conference will appear in the Electronic Library of Mathematics of the European Mathematical Society (http://www.emis.de/proceedings/), and the publication of a print volume with selected contributions is planned.
Keynote Speakers
R. Seiler and P. De Bra will be the keynote speakers.

Submission
Full papers should be at most 15 pages long, while software demonstration descriptions and poster abstracts should be at most 5 pages long, preferably using the style guide of the Springer Lecture Notes in Computer Science. All contributions should be submitted, as PDF or Postscript, using the web submission process at http://www.easychair.org/WebALT2006CFP/submit/, or in exceptional cases to the Program Chair along with a cover letter indicating contact details, title of the contribution, and few keywords.
